Citizens for Squirrel Point

Upcoming Events

From 2008 – 2009, we have hosted a variety of events at the light, including community clean-up days, nature walks, and historical tours for visiting groups. Over two hundred people visited Squirrel Point on September 12, 2009 as part of Open Lighthouse Day: many were able to see the interior of the light for the very first time. If you have a group who would like a guided tour of the light, or if you have an event you’d like to propose, please contact us. We are happy to arrange access and information as needed for appropriate groups.

Upcoming events will be posted here as they are scheduled:

Spring 2010 clean-up and burn of combustible debris. We had to postpone our first scheduled date due to high winds, and fire hazard since. We will reschedule when conditions permit.

Tuesday, June 15, 7 p.m. "Lighting the Kennebec" a talk on the history of the Kennebec Lights by Mike Kreindler and CSP Board Member Fred Kahrl. At the Georgetown Historical Society. Free.

Saturday, September 18 we will once again participate in Open Lighthouse Day. The keeper's house and display area will be open all day.
