Our Purpose
Citizens for Squirrel Point was formed in 2002. Our mission is: “To ensure that Squirrel Point Light in Arrowsic, Maine
is used and maintained in accordance with the terms of Federal law, State law, local law, and the covenants in its 1998 deed from the U.S. Government to preserve the lighthouse property for the public benefit.
” Membership Citizens for Squirrel Point currently has about a hundred and fifty individual members -- many from Maine but also those who keep in touch from farther afield. CSP also welcomes corporate members including The American Lighthouse Foundation, Maine Historic Preservation, and The Chewonki Foundation. Members are added to our email list and receive updates on the status of the Light, volunteer work needed, membership meetings and projects, and special events. Becoming a member is simple. Send an email to info@squirrelpoint.org pledging to uphold our mission at all times.
